Actor Paul Walker has died in a car accident. He was 40.
Walker is best known for his role as a cop turned racing bank robber in The Fast and the Furious movies. I never really much paid attention to any sort of performance in those films; their success to me is based on the action and cars.
I hope people look at Paul Walker as more then Vin Diesel’s foil. Not saying he did bad work in that franchise but his talent was eclipsed by the size of those films. Walker’s talent lied behind his boyish looks and all American persona. I like to remember him in films like Gary Ross’s Pleasantville, Clint Eastwood’s Flags of our Fathers and Wayne Kramer’s Running Scared. Check these films out if you want to see Paul Walker doing what he set on in life to do.
