Noelle Hannibal for Curtains Up
Super-heroes, villains and droids, will be swooping into town this weekend for the annual Montreal Comiccon. I’ll be there too!
My first experience with Montreal Comiccon was in 2009. I was invited to participate as a guest for my appearances in Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Voyager and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I was lucky enough to get a role in First Contact which cememnted my place in Star Trek history as the first female Vulcan on Earth. This weekend will be my 6th Comiccon.

Montreal Comiccon was launched in 2006. The event features comic books, toys, games, science-fiction, horror, anime, non-sport cards and collectibles. Attendance has grown each year with the addition of several noteworthy guests. Last year, an estimated 32,000 people attended and had the chance to meet guests including Patrick Stewart, William Shatner, Wil Wheaton, Brent Spiner, Malcolm McDowell, Kevin Sorbo, cast members from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the cast of Warehouse 13, the cast of Being Human and many more.
For me, Comiccon is a great opportunity to connect with the wonderful fans. I am so delighted to hear stories of their experience with Star Trek or Buffy. It is also a great opportunity for me to meet people that I admire! This year, I am most looking forward to meeting Gillian Anderson. I was a HUGE X-Files fan and am considering bringing in my “Scully” Barbie for her to sign. Is that weird?

Other guests slated to appear are George Takei, Edward James Olmos, Christopher Lloyd, Kevin Smith, Margo Kidder, Laurie Holden from The Walking Dead, Felicia Day, Vic Mignogna, William Katt, Lou Ferrigno, Sean Astin, cast members from Battlestar Galactica and many more!
The 2013 edition of Montreal Comiccon runs September 13 to September 15, 2013 at the Palais des congrès, 159 St Antoine St W, Montreal, QC H2Z 1H2.
If you would like to stop by and see me, please do! I will be signing Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Saturday from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM and from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, Sunday from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM and from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM. Be sure to tell me Curtains Up sent you!
