Heavy MTL’s 2014 Raucous and Rollus Lineup Announced

By Rik Roe, for curtainsup.tv

2013 was a Raucous and Rollus Heavy MTL success that had It’s festival goers absorbing waves of sound, talent, and festivities.

2014 is continuing the tradition.

Heavy Montreal has just rolled out its 2014 edition lineup for its 6th annual installment of the “loudest” festival of the summer, taking place at Montreal’s Parc Jean-Drapeau on August 9th and 10th.

Metallica, heading the bill, are reputedly performing their only North American show this summer at Heavy MTL, and in addition, will be playing an “All-request” show (now you understand the poster & ads) with a set list picked by “Heavy MTL” festival-goers, who will be able to send their request to the band via special codes provided with ticket purchase.

Complementing the festival lineup are the following great acts:

  • Slayer
  • The Offspring
  • Lamb of God
  • Anthrax
  • Fucked Up
  • Bad Religion
  • D.R.I.
  • Three Days Grace
  • The Dropkick Murphys
  • Pennywise
  • Bat Sabbath (Cancer Bats’ Black Sabbath tribute)
  • Body Count
  • Monster Truck
  • Protest the Hero
  • Madball
  • Apocalyptica
  • Hatebreed
  • Exodus
  • Grimskunk
  • Alestorm
  • Whitechapel
  • Biblical, and more.

See the complete lineup here.

New this year to the fold, as stated in their Press Release:

“A fourth stage will be added this year in order to showcase more artists, including many local bands, and to maximize the festival experience for the fans. And, after a ton of success last year, the HEAVY MANIA Wrestlers will return to HEAVY MONTRÉAL this summer.”

Great musicians, great music, camaraderie, head-banging-crowd-surfing-all the world’s a stage-party-on-Garth friendly mirthful attitude combined with a well organized and well-oiled machine is what draws crowds and acts to Montreal’s ever growing-in-popularity Festival that rewards and recognizes Rockers of all-ages.

More details are going to be announced over the next few months, but for now, weekend passes go on sale March 7.

Get them while you can, they will go fast if the last years are an indication.

Arms held high, hands and “horns” in the air. Rock In, Rock Out, Rock On.

Get to the Festival and take it all in.

I’ll see you there!
