Arts and Entertainment Montreal Theatre

It’s time for the annual (virtual!) Geordie Theatre Fest

Every year, Montreal’s own Geordie Theatre puts together a festival so people of all ages can discover great works in theatre for young audiences. And since current circumstances don’t allow for in-person productions, Geordie is bringing theatre… right to you!

The Geordie Theatre Fest will take place February 3 to 6, with plays, workshops, a talkback session, and more—all livestreamed from the theatre’s main stage.

Staged readings for high schools

Two staged readings will be presented exclusively for high schools, in partnership with the National Theatre School of Canada.

The Fest opens on Wednesday February 3rd with The Borrowing Man, a play by Sarah Currie. It tells the story of three teenagers who attempt to follow a virtual internet ritual to summon a supernatural figure… in an attempt to get answers about their future!

Then on Thursday February 4th, high school students will be treated to Until Tenth Grade by playwright Jena McLean. Follow an epic story of teens as they grapple with the realities of high school, identity, activism, and the world of dating.

Be part of the audience… at home!

Tune in for a day of theatre festivities on Saturday February 6th!
