The Centaur Theatre’s annual WinterWorks lineup is a collection of experimental, boundary-pushing, and innovative Canadian performances that blend productions from established artists with readings from some exciting up-and-coming voices—on until February 22nd.
Already in full swing, this unique festival of accessible performances is playing to a packed house eager for a first glimpse of what’s in the works in local theatre and beyond.
From Aaron Collier’s blend of electronic music and storytelling in Frequencies, to Jojo O’Neil’s bold and hopeful Holes, to Confabulation’s annual The Shortest Story extravaganza (How many stories can you fit into one performance? The answer is apparently 35.), discover four new works plus readings from up-and-coming artists who are boldly leaving their mark.
Still to come:
Catch The Healing, on until February 22 – an immersive dance theatre piece that follows Marie from her troubled childhood to adulthood, chasing the same ghosts.
Lay Down All Dogs plays on February 21 – the story of two sisters who must decide how far they’ll go to protect their home from a stranger with a secret.
Purchase tickets here. Note that Lay Down All Dogs offers pay-what-you-decide tickets.
