2014 Golden Globe Awards; …and the winner is…

By Tracey Hill for Curtains Up

Poehler & Fey did a good job as hosts of the 2014 Golden Globes (albeit a little risqué), glibly making fun of their peers who all seemed to take it in stride with big guffaws and hearty swigs of bubbly.

Best presenter; I think it was a tie between the lightning-quick Jim Carrey (who poked at Shia LeBoeuf’s recent faux pas) and Diane Keaton who accepted the Cecil B. DeMille award on behalf of the absent Woody Allen.

The 2014 Oscars won’t be so predictable this year, eh? The Golden Globe winners were scattered about with no film in particular dominating by taking home all the hardware.

Of course we all have our favorite actors and we root for the films we loved….or bothered watching, so it’s all a matter of opinion in the end. It’s also a matter of opinion as to whom was best dressed. My picks for best fancypants frocks; Cate Blanchett, Amy Adams & Julianna Margeulies. Worst; Zoe Saldana, Drew Barrymore (who should hire Kerry Washington’s maternity stylist)  and Emma Stone.

If you missed the show, dozed off during Jacqueline Bissett’s acceptance speech or took an exceptionally long bathroom break… here is a brief list of winners;

  1. So happy with the nominations this year and for 12 Years A Slave. Great movie. I do think that The Butler was snubbed though. I personally thought it was a great film and Oprah’s performance was outstanding.
